Mahindra Accelo’s facility at Polivakkam- Thiruvallur (Near Chennai) processes Cold Rolled for automotive application, Cold Rolled Grain Oriented for transformers, Cold rolled non-Grain oriented for EV motors, home appliance, pumps and industrial motors.
This plant uses best – in – class manufacturing facilities for processing automotive as well as electrical steel with equipment sourced from Fagor Arrasate Spain, Heinrich Georg GmbH Maschinenfabrik, Germany; Nittetsu Denji Corp., Japan and Esmech Pro / eco, India. The Cold rolled steel (CR / CRCA) and for automotive skin panels is sourced from leading steel mills domestically as well as from overseas. The CRGO steel (Cold rolled grain oriented steel) for transformers is sourced from Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corp. (NSSMC), Japan – the best in the world.
The plant is strategically situated in South India to cater to the processed steel requirements of auto OEMs, as well as major transformer manufacturers.
